Home Experiment: Homemade Lava Lamp



If you're looking for a really fun home experiment for your kids - this is the right blog post for you! Today we're going to show you how to create a Lava Lamp!


Materials you'll need

  • A clear plastic or glass container

  • Food Colouring

  • Vinegar

  • Baking Soda

  • vegetable oil

  • small bowel

  • Flat Lamp (iPhone flashlight will do)

Instructions

  1. Fill the container with 2 tablespoon of baking soda.

  2. fill the container with vegetable oil (until it's almost full).

  3. on a small bowel, pour 4 tablespoon of vinegar

  4. to the same bowel, add some food colouring.

  5. pour the bowel content into the container

  6. put the container on top of the flalshlight

And that's it, the magic will happen - you've got yourself a homemade lava lamp!
