About Club SciKidz
Club SciKidz Labs is the science kit subscription service offered by Club SciKidz. Club SciKidz was created in 1997 by Bob and Sue Hagan. It is well-known as one of the best science and technology camps in the country. The creators of Club SciKidz, Bob and Sue, have been in the education field for over 30 years combined. They both have also earned a Master's Degree in education.
Bob and Sue Hagan decided to form their company to help children learn more about science and its importance in the real-world. They strive to make their STEM subscription kits engaging to foster an appreciation and excitement about science in children.
Each STEM box offered by Club SciKidz is the result of extensive research and development by Bob Hagan. When creating each kit, Bob looks for topics that will be interesting for children of all ages.
Club SciKidz Uniqueness
One thing that sets Club SciKidz apart from other companies is the real lab equipment that is included in the monthly science box your child will receive. Children can save the equipment from each box and use it to create their own at-home laboratory where they can develop and test their own hypotheses.
Your first science subscription box will also include their exclusive Lab Notebook. This can be used to encourage children to keep track of the different projects they complete and what they learn from each task. Safety glasses, pipettes, forceps, and a magnifying lens are also included in the first STEM box.
Club SciKidz's STEM monthly subscription boxes follow a monthly theme. Each month, the items in the kit will relate to a specific science theme. The monthly themes center around different activities related to careers in a science field. For example, one stem monthly box may be related to robotics, while other months may focus on veterinary medicine, programming, engineering, or food science.
Since Club SciKidz doesn't offer differentiated STEM subscription kits for different ages, depending on the ages of your children you may find that completing the project in each kit is a good family activity. Older children may be able to complete the projects with minimal to no support as well. They recommend their boxes for children who are 7 or older, but say that children as young as 4 or 5 can also access the kits with adult support.
Instead of, or in addition to, signing up for a STEM monthly subscription box, you can also order some of the past boxes created by Club SciKidz. A few of the options you'll find available center around topics such as climate change, the solar system, fossils, geology, robotics, and electronics.
With Club SciKidz, you have the option to sign up for a 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month STEM kit subscription. A 1-month subscription costs $39.95 each month, a 3-month subscription casts $36.95 each month, a 6-month subscription costs $34.95 each month, and a 12-month subscription costs $32.95 each month. The 12-month subscription offers the greatest savings, so it may be the best option to consider. If you are interested in ordering a past STEM subscription box to supplement your subscription, you can expect to spend between $34.95 and $39.95.
You can request a refund for a particular month's kit, but you will have to do so before the kit has been shipped. After Club SciKidz ships a kit, they will not offer refunds. However, if one of the items in your kit is damaged, simply contact the company, and they will send you a replacement.
If you decide Club SciKidz isn't for you, you can cancel your subscription before it renews. You will still receive the remaining science subscription kits you signed up for, but no new kits will be shipped. You can also choose to skip a particular month's box if the topic isn't one that you think your child will be interested in. In this case, you'll still continue to receive boxes the following month.
